A mother dog wandering the streets of a small Indian village faced a daily struggle until a concerned local took notice of her distress.
Despite her bedraggled appearance, the dog, later named Pinky, had a gentle demeanor and often sought proximity to people. However, her sagging jaw gave away her painful condition.
Upon further inspection, residents uncovered that Pinky’s jaw was broken. This injury caught the attention of passersby, as did her bleeding mouth and difficulty breathing.

Compassionate individuals sprang into action, deciding Pinky needed urgent help, and took her to the RRSA India animal shelter.
Even in pain, Pinky’s sweet nature was undeniable. When the rescue team arrived, she greeted them warmly, wagging her tail and licking their hands as they assessed her injuries.
They quickly recognized the need for immediate veterinary care to save her life.

Carefully transported to the RRSA India animal hospital, Pinky received antibiotics for an infection and medication to alleviate her pain.
Veterinarians decided to wire her jaw shut to facilitate proper healing after discovering she had been hit by a car, which had fractured her jaw and teeth.
The severity of her injuries required surgery to remove a significant portion of her lower jaw and teeth, saving her from a life-threatening septic wound.

Pinky embarked on her path to recovery at a foster home, supported by the dedication of hospital staff. Her journey was tough; initially, she had to be fed through a tube for almost a month.
Through the unwavering care from the shelter workers and her foster family, Pinky began mending.
As her jaw healed, she was able once again to eat and drink normally.

Her foster family, charmed by her gentle nature and experienced in caring for special-needs dogs, decided to adopt her permanently, continuing to provide the love and care she needed.
Today, Pinky thrives in her new home, relishing a cozy bed, ample food, and the affection she so deserves. Her rescue story is a testament to the power of compassion and kindness, emphasizing that every animal merits a second chance.

Pinky’s journey is just one among many undertaken by RRSA India, whose initiatives depend heavily on community support and donations to furnish essential resources like medical care, food, and shelter for animals in dire situations.
Without such generosity, many animals like Pinky might remain in jeopardy on the streets.
