From the moment dogs come into this world, all they crave is love.
When they realize that we love them deeply, their eyes light up with joy. Their tails start wagging non-stop, and our arms become the place where they feel the happiest.
It’s impossible to imagine that someone can be capable of abandoning their dog, but unfortunately, it’s a sad reality for many pups.
Leo, a sweet little canine, experienced the feeling of abandonment, too. His whole world changed after he was dumped on a hill on the outskirts of a city. He was forced to fight for his survival the best way he could.
The canine felt lonely and scared until a good human found him and gave him hope.
A man who went cycling in that area felt sad after he came across a little abandoned pup.
He kept visiting him and bringing him food for two months. The pooch could tell that he was a good human, and the two became great friends.
The doggo waited for his friend at the same spot on the side of the road every time, greeting him with a smiling face and his wagging tail.
Whenever the man showered him with cuddles, the pup’s beautiful, sad eyes filled up with tenderness and affection. He felt glad to receive some love.
The compassionate human wished to help the dog, and he contacted Howl Of A Dog, a dog rescue. He told them about the abandoned dog and asked them to take him in.
The kind man took the rescuer to the hill.
As soon as they arrived, they saw the pooch. He was waiting at his usual place.
The rescuer gave him some treats and stroked him gently. Although the canine was a bit hesitant to trust them, the rescuer managed to secure a leash over the doggo’s neck and put him in a crate.
The pooch was taken to the vet clinic right away.
The vet team scanned him for a microchip, but they didn’t find one. The doggo received a thorough medical checkup.
He had a wound on his tail. In order to clean and treat it, the vet shaved part of the fur on his tail. Since the pup’s tail reminded his caregivers of a lion’s tail, the dog was named Leo.
Apart from being a little underweight and infested with fleas, Leo was found to be in good health.
As soon as Leo met his caregivers at Howl Of A Dog, he captivated their hearts with his adorable disposition. He loved snuggling with them, and he felt joyful, soaking up their love.
A few weeks later, Leo was ready to search for a loving home.
He didn’t have to wait long, and he soon found his forever parents, who were enchanted with him.
After moving into his new home, the pooch was a bit timid. His family gave him a lot of love and did everything they could to make him feel comfortable.
Once he realized how much his family adored him, his eyes started shining brighter than ever. He was over the moon.
He relished cuddling with his parents on the couch. They made him feel safe and treasured. Leo knew that they would never abandon him.
We couldn’t be happier that the affectionate doggo got his happily ever after.
