No animal deserves to experience cruelty, yet this was the reality for a dog in Mexico City. The poor animal was often left chained outside by his owners, even when the weather turned harsh.
A video that surfaced showed the dog huddled tightly to protect himself during a severe rainstorm that included hail. Despite the challenging conditions, his owners appeared unconcerned about his distress.
A distressed neighbor captured the scene on camera and shared the footage on Twitter, seeking intervention from authorities.
The video quickly garnered attention. Letty Varela, a representative from the Animal Control Brigade, responded on Twitter, assuring the public that her team had taken action.
“Officers from Mexico City’s Secretariat of Citizen Security’s Animal Control Brigade responded promptly,” Varela noted. “The dog has been rescued from those dreadful conditions and is now under the care of our veterinary team. Ending animal cruelty is our priority.”
In a follow-up post, Varela shared her joy at the dog’s transformation, thanking her colleagues for their efforts. “It is heartwarming to see this dog now calm, loved, and happy. His future is filled with hope due to the dedication of our team.”
The once-neglected dog now has a new lease on life, with the promise of a much brighter future.
