Scarlett Johansson has had her fair share of bold beauty moments, but there’s one look that she’d rather forget.
The 34-year-old actress told PEOPLE that her most regrettable hairstyle came at the 2004 Tony Awards when she was just 19 or 20 years old.

Despite aiming for a glamorous Jean Harlow-inspired style, Johansson’s hair turned into what she described as an “electrical socket crazy” disaster.
Johansson recounted how her crimped hair at the event has become a lasting memory, or as she puts it, “lives on the interweb forever.”

According to the actress, she intended to recreate Harlow’s iconic waves but ended up with a far more unruly result. “It looked like a crimping iron was taking a stand on my head,” she said.
Despite this memorable mishap, Johansson has never stopped experimenting with her hair. She has tried a variety of colors, ranging from fiery red to classic blonde and brunette.
Her styles include straight, curly, and a half-shaved pixie cut. Her adventurous attitude towards hair transformations keeps fans guessing what she’ll do next.

“The best thing about hair color is that it’s only temporary,” Johansson told InStyle in 2017, suggesting she’s not afraid to take risks, knowing she can always change her look again.
