A heartwarming rescue unfolded in Paraná when the INSTITUTO SOS 4 PATAS responded to an urgent call about an injured dog left alone under a tree. Immediately, a rescuer was dispatched to assess the situation.
Upon arrival, it was clear the dog had been through a traumatic ordeal. She was not only abandoned but also bore several injuries, including facial bleeding, a swollen nose and eyes, and a wound on her neck.
Recognizing the seriousness of her condition, the rescuer quickly transported the dog to a nearby shelter where she could receive the medical attention she desperately needed.

Once at the shelter, the medical team ran several tests to check for any additional health concerns. The results were distressing.
The dog had a broken jaw and foreign objects were detected in her stomach, suggesting she had ingested something harmful. Further tests revealed these objects were sharp fragments of steel, posing a serious threat to her well-being.

The veterinary team promptly conducted a delicate procedure to remove the steel pieces from her stomach, a process so exhausting for the poor dog that she fainted. Despite the trauma, the operation was successful.
Now on the path to recovery, the dog has started to eat again, although her diet is currently limited to liquid foods to ease her digestion.

Her health improves daily, and her spirits are lifting as well. With a gradually increasing appetite and a newfound sense of comfort, she’s even begun to make friends at the shelter, signaling a hopeful new beginning.
