When the call came from a government veterinary hospital about a dog found unconscious on the road, we knew we had to act quickly. The situation was dire, but our team was determined to save this dog’s life.
We immediately brought him to the Animal Aid hospital for urgent treatment. He was severely dehydrated and in shock, so we administered intravenous fluids right away and provided oxygen to ease his breathing difficulties.
The initial examination revealed that his jaw was broken, though thankfully no other bones were affected. However, the excessive blood loss left us uncertain about his recovery.
In a few hours, though, signs of improvement began to show. His eyes became more focused, indicating he was waking up and starting to acclimate to his new environment.
This young dog’s path to recovery was a lengthy process, requiring two months of daily therapy aimed at restoring his ability to walk, eat, and mentally recover. While challenging, it was a journey marked by gradual yet significant progress.
