It is always heartbreaking to see a dog in distress, especially since these innocent creatures often suffer through no fault of their own. Such was the case for a dog named Lydia, who was found in a dire situation in the countryside of Karditsa, Greece.
Lydia was discovered by the Diasozo Animal Rescue Team after locals reported her precarious state. She was found alone in a field, weak and suffering from a serious, infected wound on her back among other injuries.

Recognizing the urgency, the rescue team quickly arrived to provide the help she desperately needed.
The team handled Lydia with care, gently lifting her from the field to avoid causing further harm.
She was then secured in a blanket and transported in a cage in the back of their truck, heading straight for a veterinary clinic where she could receive the professional care she required.
Upon arrival, Lydia’s cage was opened, and despite her injuries, she sprang out with noticeable excitement. However, her movement was hindered by a limp.
A thorough examination revealed a significant wound on her back and another injury where a bone had broken through her skin.
Under the vet’s care, Lydia began a steady recovery. Her condition improved with each passing day, and even though she still limped, she regained much of her strength and energy.
Once her treatment at the clinic was completed, Lydia was taken to a foster home to continue her recovery journey, ultimately in preparation for adoption into a loving forever home.
