No pet should ever endure mistreatment, yet countless animals continue to suffer. One dog in Mexico City experienced such neglect, consistently left chained outside by his owners, regardless of the weather.
A poignant video captured this dog as he struggled to protect himself amidst a fierce hailstorm, curling up tightly to fend off the cold while his owners showed no concern for his welfare.
A compassionate neighbor, moved by the sight, filmed the incident and posted it on Twitter, with the hope that the authorities would step in.
The footage quickly caught attention, prompting Letty Varela, an official with the Animal Control Brigade, to respond on Twitter. She confirmed that her team had taken immediate action.
“Officers from Mexico City’s Secretariat of Citizen Security’s Animal Control Brigade responded swiftly,” Varela stated. “The dog has been rescued from these terrible conditions and is now under the care of our veterinary team. Enough with animal cruelty.”
In a subsequent post, Varela shared her joy over the dog’s recovery, thanking her colleagues for their efforts. “It’s heartwarming to see this dog now calm, loved, and happy. His future is much brighter thanks to our dedicated team.”
The once-overlooked dog now has a fresh start and a promising future ahead.
