A Korean non-profit animal rescue organization, Hosu uuuuuun, recently responded to a call about two puppies with severe skin conditions wandering the streets. The puppies were trying to find shelter under a car during heavy rain.
Initially, the rescuers underestimated how serious the puppies’ skin condition was due to the many bugs and tall grass around.
The puppies were visibly hungry and fearful of human touch, and during their search, the rescue team discovered their weak and scared mother on the street. The wet weather only added to their discomfort.
A volunteer explained, “We managed to house the puppies temporarily in a small shelter, providing them with food and water, but the mother remains elusive as she continues to hide from us due to fear.”
Thanks to a determined effort by the rescue team, the mother was successfully saved the following morning despite the freezing conditions.
An expert recommended that the animals undergo four weeks of veterinary care, including isolation and hospitalization. The male puppy, Haetal, with severe mange, is receiving daily treatment. Meanwhile, the timid female puppy, Seongkal, often hides away from people. Their mother, named Banya, is also battling a serious skin ailment.

Progress was seen after ten days. While Haetal became more sociable and less fearful, Banya and Seongkal still showed signs of anxiety and mistrust.
After spending a month under veterinary care, the puppies and their mother made a full recovery. Haetal enjoyed his time at the hospital, running around as if it were a playground. Seongkal is now ready to join a loving family through adoption.
